Niema Mack
Motivating Minds Childcare
Brooklyn SBDC

Ms. Niema Mack, President of Motivating Minds Childcare and the third of twelve children, was inspired by experiences with her siblings to become an early childhood educator. Her extensive background in supervision and her interpersonal skills made her an exemplary early childhood teacher. Unfortunately, she wasn’t happy as a teacher, so she decided to seek self-employment as a provider of childcare services. Ms. Mack consulted the Small Business Development Center in Brooklyn, where she explained her desire to open a childcare center that could handle thirty children or more. During the two year research and development stage for her family daycare business, Business Advisor Miriam Colon assisted Ms. Mack in developing a funding proposal and a standard operating procedures manual for Motivating Minds Childcare, LLC. Ms. Colon also assisted with the preparation of NYC agency applications and inspections, acquisition of a tax id number, and designing the business logo and letterhead. Ms. Colon even assisted with the development of a uniform dress code with the company logo. Ms. Mack is developing a PowerPoint presentation to use in establishing a powerful brand image for Motivating Minds Childcare. Ms. Mack is a NYS-certified Daycare Provider Training Consultant as well as the CEO of Motivating Minds Childcare. She is hoping to expand to her 3rd daycare facility in the near future.
